My ancester Henry William Wilson son of William and Gerdina (spelling may not be correct?) was born abt 1829 in Drammen Buskerud The father was of Scottish decent and his mother Norwegian . As they lived in the port of Drammen I have concluded that the father was a seaman but I know almost nothing else about him (or Gerdina) where they lived, other children etc. Their son Henry William arrived in Port Phillip Bay Melbourne Australia on an American whaling ship The "Plumstead" as crew (a carpenter) from Liverpool, England in 1854 ( where his Oz story starts). I am looking for help on how to access information and records about all three people mentioned in this note about their lives in Norway. I am particularly interested in other family members and background about emigration from Norway at this time. Kind regards Annette

Gerdina, a very rare name in Norway, more common was Gerda.
Your information is very datailed so there is no reason to doubt that the onfo. is correct exept perhaps a few syllables of some names because of the pronunciation of the alphabet is quite diff. from English.

This next is only a possible suggestion.
Gerdina, noone with that name in the 1865 census, the same for Alvertson, makes me think of Gerda Albertsen.
Ca 80 Henry in Norway 1865, not very common.

Acc to Norwegian naming parctise from the scanned churchbooks and censuses;
Henry Wiliam Williamsen, Parents; William Wilson and Gerda Albertsen.
