I have been trying to complete my family tree for many years. I have managed to gather a lot of information through heritage sites, but what happened to them when they came to NZ seems just as hard to piece together.
The line I am following is Engebret Englebretsen & Elen Sophie Pedersdatter.
The questions I would like answers to is what happened to their children. I have information regarding Gustave (my Grandfather), but not the other children Clara, Anna Caroline, Petter Emil, Alfred Carelius & Carl.
Otto was 29 when he died so may not have had a family.
thanks Scott

Of course, we here specialize in Norwegian information - not New Zealand.

You appear to have birth dates and birth places in Norway - I cannot see what help you need. Can you be specific?

Thanks Kåre

I did find more info from the above sites

My Father always said that when Engebret Englebretsen & Elen Sophie Pedersdatter where ready to leave Oslo they were heading for the USA but the harbour was frozen over and when they went to board again the ship was gone & they got on the one coming to New Zealand. Is there a way to check this?

How can I follow my GGrandparents in Norway, and find out more about them and their families?
Engebret Engebretsen, B: Apr 9 1836, JoseFBERGET, SØR-ODAL, HEDMARK
D: Jan 27 1920, Norsewood, Tararua, New Zealand
Elen Sophie Pedersdatter, B: Dec 24 1839, Sanderenga, Strøm, Sør-Odal, Hedmark, Norway
D: Mar 17 1915, Norsewood, Tararua, New Zealand.

Thanks

Yes the family seems to have disappeared, when they were of age to move away from the family home in NZ.

We do have a couple of Englebretsen's in NZ who do not come directly from my line, but maybe they are from my Great uncles.

The spelling of our name changed when they came to NZ. Some body put the L in the Surname.

Hi Kåre
With the info above I have found a Even Danielsen B: 27 Jun 1762 ?

Is his father Daniel Poulsrud ? or Daniel KNUTSEN B: 1706?
