I am trying to find out more about the voyage of emigrants who left Norway on the S/S Angelo on May 12, 1882. According to the information on your database: "1882 May 12, The Wilson Line steamships Angelo and Argo left Christiania with 889 emigrants for over Hull, England to immigrate to the United States." I am wondering what ship the emigrants used from Hull. When I click on the link, a large number of connecting ships turns up. What would be the likely connection for an immigrant headed for Wisconsin? Also, the number of emigrants on the two ships is quite specific. Does this mean that a passenger list exists for this sailing?
Thanks for any information!

Found a passenger list for the connecting ship from Liverpool, the Nevada, so I have found the people who traveled on the Angelo, though the information is pretty garbled. Do lists also exist for the Angelo?

Yes, the lists of emigrants created by the police in Oslo still exist. Check at the Statsarkivet i Oslo.

As I'm in the US and not in Norway, I would order the appropriate microfilm from the LDS Family History Library and study the original lists that way. I have done that for my own ancestors who left from Oslo and found it quite interesting.

For copies of the passenger manifests upon arrival in 'America' you'd have to check in archives that have those copies OR use microfilms of the manifests (I'd use LDS microfilms).

Heading to Wisconsin in 1882 I'd expect the most likely port of arrival would have been through Quebec, Canada. But there were other possibilities as is discussed in a number of the information articles on this website.
