| Said to have been illegitimate child of Eller Bortnos and Eli Mukklebostat born in Mekinok, North Dakota on 20 Nov 1878. Claimed by Elias Hermanson Thompson and went by name Severin Thompson in US. Father was Elias Hermanson ? born in Norway 18 October 1856 in Dale Parish, Luster, Sogn Og Fjordane. Mother thought to be Eli Rasmussen Mukklesostat also called Elen Rice born 18 May 1851 in Innvik, Nordfjord, Norway. Any help appreciated. |

You are right reg Eli, but she was born on farm Augsborg where her father was "Inderst" a relative to the owner.
Aubsborg was owned by Rasmus brother Jacob Rasmussen in 1865.
Eli b. Mai. 18. 1851, her parents; Rasmus Rasmussen and Sigrid Ingebrigtsdatter, #17
Rasmus Rasmussen, cottager with land and Siri (Sigrid) Ingebrigtsdatter on Myklebust with 4 children 1865
The farm could feed 3 bigcattle, 7 cheeps, 7 goats, 1 pig and they could sow 1/4 barrel of oats and 1 and a half barrel of potatoes.

Father could be Elias born Oct 18 1856, parents Tosten Hermundsen and Eli Johnsdatter, Sande. See #87.

Thank you. That is them. Only confusion is where some research indicates her name Mukklebostat? Where would that come from? It appears to be the farm Myklebust? |

In 1865 there were 4 municipalities (Sellø, Davik, Eid and Invik) in Sogn og Fjordane with 49 farms named Myklbostad, 4 of them named Myklebust/Myklebostad, but none in Luster.
Maybe it is due to a misunderstanding or because the boundaries have been moved over the centuries.
Muklebust is the farm Eli lived on in 1865.
Prof O. Rygh tells that both names were used, some variations from Sogn og Fjordane; Møgelbosta 1663, Michelbostad 1603, Møckelbustd 1608, Møchelbust 1663, Møchlebust 1723, Michelbust 1723 Myklebust 1865

| I have a copy of an utflyttings attest pertaining to the Torsten Hermandsen Sande and Eli Johnsdatter Quale family - there is a son, Elias, listed as born 18 October, 1856. Please let me know if this would be helpful to anyone here. |

The baptismal record for Tosten Hermundsen is the second record on the right page, link.
He was born out of wedlock. His mother was Anna Olsdatter, Ytre Krogen and the father was Hermund Svendsen, Svendsøe.

The baptismal record for Eli Jonsdatter is #41.
Eli was born out of welock. Her mother was Anna Olsdatter, Qualsøret and her father was Jon Nielsen, Rønne. |

Rasmus Rasmussen and Sigrid Ingebrightsdatter were married Maarch 19 1848, see #2.
Rasmus was born July 11 1820, see #34 - his parents were Rasmus Jacobsen and Alett Rasmusdatter.
Sigri Ingebrightsdatter was born Nov 26 1820, see #1 - her parents were Ingebright Arnesen and Barbro Olsdatter. Sigri was born out of wedlock.
