You mean #112...
The entry in the first column is telling you to see the baptism for this child 1 Jan 1881 which is on the next page.... |

quote: #20. Does this indicate the child died? What are the notes under the child's name and the last word under the mother's name and birthdate?
- in the column for the childs name it says "Udøpt" = not babtized. (the child was a girl.) Note under this info says "Tvilling til et dødfodt Pigebarn" = twin to a stillborn baby girl. The parents farm name is Stensby.

Strikethrough the name and date for #112 Inga Olene means that the baptism should have been on Dec. 26. 1879 but the parents/child could first meet Jan. 1. 1880, see small print to the left.
The reason for the postponement is not mentioned, perhaps disease, severe cold etc. and tells that the church book was finished before the ceremony.

The twins, one of which was stillborn, were born March 7 1879. The name of the living one is not known as she is recorded as not baptized.
The next child to Ole Johannesen and Mari Johnsdatter was born Sept 8 1880 and baptized Inga Oline Jan 1 1881.

The one surviving twin was baptized on 1 Jan 1881--her name was Inga Oline and she was born 8 Sept 1880. The baptism was originally scheduled on 26 Dec 1880 but didn't come off. |

How can we explain the discrepancy between the 7 March 1879 birthdate originally listed and the other 8 Sep 1880 birthdate for the second twin?

What discrepancy?
The simplest explanation is that there is enough passage of time between the two dates that there were 2 seperate pregnancies, each of them with twins, most of whom died without baptism.
The scribe didn't make a really clear set of books. Books are usually created in the flow of time, so very unlikely that the 1879 births are the same as that mentioned in 1880 & 1881. Dødfødtes are usually in their own seperate listing, I assume mostly because they were never alive to receive the rite of baptism. Any child in danger of dying can be baptized by any person of faith--pastor and church are not required.

Inga Oline Olsdatter, born Sept 8 1880, her confirmation record is #35-104.
No confirmation record found for the surviving twin born March 7 1879. Death record for daughter of Ole Johannesen who was not baptized #21.
