I have found my great grandparents in Rogaland (my grandmother died in Iowa when my father was 2, so I am excited to get this far). Now that I have located my great grandmother's 'vitals', I am having trouble reading her parents' names. Her father Tjerand ???sen looks different in the two listings I've found, and all I can be sure of her mother is S???? ???datter.

My great grandmother was Ragnhild Tjerandsdatter, born 8 Jan 1841,christened 7 Feb. Here is the page from the Sandeid Vikedal book (second page top entry):

http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=1711&uid=ny&idx_side=-62&ls=1&idx_listetype=dp&idx_kjonn=b

She married Levard Jorgensen from Nedre Helgevold on 14 July 1863, and only the fathers are listed. The listing is #10, at the bottom of the page:

http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=1714&uid=ny&idx_side=-32&ls=1&idx_listetype=vi&idx_kjonn=b

Also, all the fathers on the pages have occupations, i.e. the groom's father, Jorgen Levardsen is a gårdbruker, but Tjerand's occupation (father of the bride) seems to be scratched out. Is there a reason, or am I reading too much into it?

As I was staring at the two pages, I wished I had some eyes for an expert opinion, and then I found this website!

the confirmation record for Ragnilde Tjerandsdatter is #20.
Her parents is here named Tjerand Odsen and Synneva Hansdatter, Grangjerd under Helgeland. (the fathers name in the marriage record is Tjerand Hansen and must be a typo).
Ragnilde was 14 years old in 1855, ie born 1841, date said to be Jan 8.
This correspond to the baptismal record you have found.
