Here is one I do not undestand.

U.S., Headstone Applications for Military Veterans, 1925-1963
Name: Ernest Rothaupt
Birth Date: 14 Sep 1908
Death Date: 11 Nov 1959
Cemetery: Ridgewood Cemetery
Cemetery Location: Des Plaines, Illinois

The application was made by Mrs. Elin Rothaupt 2860 Scott Street, Des Plaines IL.

There maybe an explanation in that, Anna Jorgensen seems to have also been married to a Ingvald Nilsen before she was married to Bjarne Jorgensen. A puzzle to me.

And the application was signed by Melvin Nielsen.

I am looking to see where his parents or siblings lived and worked, etc. Any information would be helpful. Thank you.

Requests for "any information" often result in findings that repeat what you already know. I suspect the family tree/database (link posted earlier) might be your own, jcravi, or at least known to you, as the names and surnames repeat your own name and also your queries on Ancestry.com. If you'll say more about this search, here in this thread, that can help a lot.

Below a summary of the family in the USA as posted here and in Ancestry.com threads -- so far. Let me know any corrections:

About the Elsie Rothaupt who married Charles H Hector in November 1929 in Kings county, New York (as posted earlier): I don't think she's the sister Elsie born 06 April 1910 in Oslo.

Agreed, I will line out...

Jcravi, I am a son of the Ernest Gottlieb Rothaupt that you are researching. I have learned a number of things about my dad from the postings such as his ship during the war but also have some corrections. Can I ask why you are doing this research?
