Hmmm, that's a problem. I can't find a death record either.

Let me gather together the key facts from your Ancestry.com tree:
Haakon Peder Johan Johansen f 29 July 1903
Spouse: Olivette Dupile
Haakon's father Johan Ludvig Pedersen f 1865
Haakon's mother Petrine Helene Pedersdtr f 1868

How about ordering Olivette's death record? It should tell her place of burial. Often times a spouse is buried with his/her spouse, even if they were miles apart and years apart when they died.

One family tree for him says Haakon died 1970. No source.
Another different Haakon Johansen died Sept 1972 NOT February 1972 as in the SSDI record posted, so presumably it's a different man. Oddly enough there are several people with this name to untangle.

Did Haakon have a nickname? Did he always go by Haakon?

As jkmarler says maybe he's not in the SSDI but still there should be a death record for him. Do you have family knowledge of his death? Do you recall did he die in New York?

Your Ancestry.com family tree shows him as a crewman in 1945. It's the last public record found for him:
Name: Haakon Johansen
Arrival Date: 27 Feb 1945
Birth Date: abt 1903
Age: 42
Gender: Male
Ethnicity/ Nationality: Scandinavian
Port of Departure: Portsmouth,eng
Port of Arrival: New York, New York
Ship Name: President de Vogue

It's a weird thing when the exact piece of information you seek for somebody is the exact piece of information you need in order to get access to the record with that information.

I tried the New York Times archives but found no Haakon Johansen but two mentions of a Jack Johansen, 1 from 1952 and the other from 1963. No result on Olivette Johansen.

Perhaps there's a public library in the town that Olivette lived and they might have staff or volunteers who could look up an obit for her. Sometimes spouse obits give the exact date of death of the predeceased spouse.

Is the Random Acts of Kindness site still around?

Hi Jane. I have the death record of Olivette. I left it in my cottage last week, and I will return
Next weendend. Then I can recheck the record. She died 5. April 1983. Sconbee-Comb
Crematory. Boynton Beach, Palm Beach, Florida.
As far as I know, Haakon had no nickname. Always go by Haakon.
He and Olivette visit Oslo for the first time after imigration in 1961-62. I can't remember
exact, but i think he died about 1970,
He lived in Long Beach, N.Y when he died, so I'm almost sure he is buried in N.Y.

Thank you very much to all of you, for your efforts and help here on the Forum, much
appreciated. Harald.

I found a femily tree in Ancestry belonging to someone who had copied
My picture of Olivette and my uncle in her tree, so I and sent her a email and asked for information about my ucle's death. It was 3 month since she had visit Ancestry, so I
hope for a answer.

I have today updatet the Dupile family in my tree. I found a prosject Les Dupile in
