It appears that your Hans Jacob Hanson came to Australia in 1859 and that each of the children from Johannes to Caroline were born in Australia, is that correct?

The 1870 US census appears to show the family of Hans Hanson (b. ca. 1830) living in Houston Co. Minnesota USA. The birthplaces listed for the children would make it appear that they came to the US between 1865 and 1868. This also seems to indicate that he and Christina were married BEFORE they came to the US.

I don't find them in Minnesota for the 1880 US census - perhaps they'd left for Canada or abroad.

Roseau is a city and county seat in Roseau County, Minnesota.

The Hans Jacobs Hanson who dies in Roseau County is unlikely to be the father of someone born in 1857. Here he is in 1900:

Here he is in 1920:

A Family Tree on Ancestry.com has the following information. Very few sources and none on the death date. I am a little doubtful on the death date as there is another Hans Jacob Hansen who died on that exact date, who turns up in Ancestry searches, but he was born in Germany and died in Ilinois.

Hans Jacob HANSON
Birth 1834 in Norway
Death 9 Apr 1912

For his son John Hansen the tree has this information.

John HANSON
Birth abt 1857 in Norway
Death 16 May 1904 in Port Adelaide, South Australia, Australia

Spouse's Father's Name: George Lees
Marriage Date: 25 Apr 1881

This is likely the Hans Jacob Hanson who died in 1925 in Roseau, Minnesota. He married Inger Oliva Boraas and thus is not likely your person.
