One of the last branches to fill in with regards to the Norwegian part of my family tree is the ancestry of one Mari Johannesdatter from Fet, Akershus. I have her death record from 1831, which states her death location as the farm Hafslund, which is a sub-farm of Fjerdingbye in Rælingen, and which gives her approximate birth year as 1765. This birth year is corroborated by both the 1801 Norwegian census and the entry for Narvestad in the Bygdehistorie for Rælingen. Her 1796 marriage record to Amund Bastiansen (1762-1810) also lists her location as Hafslund. However, I cannot seem to find her birth record nor her parents' names. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Here is a link to their marriage record (bottom left corner), and here is a link to her burial record (second from the bottom, on the right). The text of the Bygdehistorie entry for Narvestad is as follows:

"Amund Bastiansen 1763-1810 ble neste bruker, han og konen Marie Johannesd. 1765-1832 hadde barna Bastian f. 1796, Johannes f. 1798 til Hestløkka under Nes, Nils f. 1800 til Sørli under Nordby. Amund flyttet senere til Bråten og døde der."

There's no further information about them under the Bråten sub-entry.

Not sure how complete the data base at Ancestry.com is for births in Akershus but it gives you a list. Also the only one connected with Rælingen is the one fournd by Kåre.

The birth year calculated from the 1801 Census is actually 1766, not a big difference but a little different.

I've already investigated Mari Johansdatter, daughter of Johan Hiort, and Mari Johannesdatter, daughter of Johannes Berger. They both married other individuals. The Hiort girl moved to Christiania (according to the entry for the farm Hoff in the Bygdehistorie for Fet), and the Berger girl died in 1818.

Well we are grasping at straws a little here. But in this 1801 Cenus is a Johannes Dillersen father of a Arne Johannsen born in 1752. The only candidate I found was one whose father was listed as Johannes Berger in Ancestry.com

http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/en-gb/ft/person/pf01058222000757

Name: Arne Johansen
Gender: Male
Baptism Date: 27 des 1752 (27 Dec 1752)
Baptism Place: , Fet, Akershus, Norway
Father: Johannes Berger
Mother: Anne Arnesdr
FHL Film Number: 123252

These are the same parents as for Mari born 1762.

Name: Arne Johansen
Gender: Male
Baptism Date: 27 des 1752 (27 Dec 1752)
Baptism Place: , Fet, Akershus, Norway
Father: Johannes Berger
Mother: Anne Arnesdr
FHL Film Number: 123252

Strange search indeed.

Okay, I've found Amund Bastiansen's probate records from 1812. This should help some. Does anybody see any clues here?
