1. Could be factually incorrect due to variety of reasons: from typo to family dysfunction.
2. Could be that Mary is already gone and therefore not counted in survivors.
Lars, have you ever checked for these people in the Rowberg Biographical File? Never mind, I did and did not find John J. Hill, Christopher Hill, nor Hans Urness there. (Forgot Anna's husband's name so unable to look her up)

Dear Jackie and other Listers!
Thank you very much, Jackie, for your latest message! I have used the Rowberg files in the past, but discovered these files for a large part include rather "prominent" people...
I have today finally received a report from Colfax, WA with Hans Urness' obituary; however, the same disappointment...; no siblings are mentioned at all!, so I fear we are hitting kind of a "dead end"... Or what should we do next?
Thanks again for your great assistance in this matter!
Very sincerely yours,
Lars E. Oyane |

Skandinaven was a Norwegian language paper published in Chicago from about 1866- 1930ish. Parts of it's publication period has been microfilmed (from 1866-1910). That would an awful slog to undergo and she may or maynot have even been in it but.....
Rowberg does have its limitations but there are at least 125,000 articles referenced within it most of them are obituaries. Women are "indexed" by not by their own name but by name of close male relative. The newspapers covered have to have been received by the editor of the Northfield (Minnesota) Independent by subscription or exchange. |

Dear Listers!
This was GREAT NEWS! I started looking for Maria's destiny more than 40 years ago!
Thanks again!
Now I may fall for the temptation to try one or two other unsolved mysteries...
Very sincerely yours,
