Hi,

I'm searching the marriage record for my 2 ancestors.

They lived all their life around Tune, Osfold

Rasmus was born on April 26, 1795 in Bentemyr under Vister Sondre.

Marie Anne was born in 1798 in Bentemyr under Vister Sondre

They had a child on Dec 12th 1818, named Has Rasmussen. So I assume they were married before 1819.

Marie Anne died in 1826.

Thank you,

Carl Savard

One clue you have about their potential marriage lies in the entry of Hans' baptism. Parental marital status is usually part of the description. And so if Hans is legitimate-- his parents were married, if he is listed as illegitimate--then they weren't. If you have the pagelink to the entry post it so we can see.

All I have is the Salt Lake record : https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N716-SB5 and a research done at the Tune church done by Inger Berg Langsholt in the 1990's.

That person found the birth dates and places, but she never mentioned Rasmus and Marie Anne's parents... :-(

She mentioned that Rasmus re-married to a "Helene" in 1828. They had 3 children together. (Hans Rasmussen was the unique child of the first marriage)

Source information: Ĝstfold county, Tune, Parish register copy nr. I 1 (1815-1822), Birth and baptism records 1819, page 94-95.
Permanent pagelink: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=7496&idx_id=7496&uid=ny&idx_side=-50

Always get to the original record if you can. This entry does define the parents as married since Anne is listed as "hustru" which means wife. So now you know that the marriage occurred before Hans birthdate and you are able to search the parish registers for the marriage.

Wow! It sure looks like him... :-) That would give me the name of his father. Finding the first marriage would confirm... :-)

It's soo hard for me reading norvegian. I'm used to search in french and english.. :-(

- I read bapt. April 2 (April 26 is when the mother was introduced to the congregation)

I also read b. April 2, the A had a "Swung"
Normally the mother was introdused 4-6 weeks after a child birth, so Rasmus was most likely b. ca March 10-15.

wow.... what can I say... You're all unbelievable! Thank you all soooo much for this quick answer... I'm so glad... :-)

We are re-uniting the norvegian root of our families that has been separated for more than 100 years. Some migrated to USA, one to Canada, some stayed in Norway... And now we're putting all our roots together...

These answers you gave me are mores pieces back in our puzzle... :-)

Bless you all...

Normally, not always, the wedding took place where the bride came from.
