Might someone be so kind to help me read a record? This is from the Klokkerbok for marriages in Gausdel, 1824, pages 412-413 record # 37.

I'm looking for the October 21st wedding of Ole Johansen and Anne Olsdatter and more so if the names listed include their parents. Just having a real hard time deciphering.

Thanks so very much!

I believe Ole Johansen could be Ole Johannesen, born 1798 and baptized March 25 1798, see 5th record right page.
Parents Johanes Olsen and Rønnoug Amundsdatter.

eibache, thanks! Not sure how I overlooked that. Must have thought I'd looked at the right page when I didn't. So they lived in the bruks of Langset and Myrhe? (Since those aren't listed as towns?)

On that second item, that honestly is unreadable for me! I'll take your word on that. It's the right timeframe for him. I've run into a lot of bad records for him so this is the best I've seen so far.

Previously people kept calling him "Ole J. Syverud Libakken". All I can think is that those were names off the bruks and they just appended that to his record.

Ole Johannesens baptismal record says his parents were living at "Søndste Vold" - in the 1801 census, they were living at Schieggestad (Skjeggestad).

Thanks Kare! It's too bad they didn't hang around for it. Got some cousins what might? ;)

Curious though. I'm sure with all your experience you guys have a long list of tricks but when people moved around from farm to farm, how would you keep track of them? Were baptism records primary sources for that or is it just luck of the draw? Or did people not have a lot of mobility back then?

Thanks!
