I was wondering if there is any information regarding my husband great great grandmother Johanne Caroline Jensdatter
1835–1907 Norway her husband was Johannes Olson
1823–1897
I would precipitate any help and I'm very thankful for this site

I'm very new at this, lori, and haven't learned the whole linking thingy, but at first glance on Arkivverket I see a Johnas Olsen with an Inger Johanne Jensdatter, born 1834, in the Christiania census of 1865.
But how certain are you of Herr Olson's birthdate? (The census data would be eight years off.) There are two children: Walborg and Axel. Ring any bells?
Meanwhile, I'll leave your query to the more expert researchers here.
(I just wanted to pretend I know what I'm talking about, because you're right about the value of this site.)

I'd be curious how you have arrived at the information you have....

Here is a Johanne Caroline Jensdatter marrying Krisitan Johan (would be Olson) Hoien:

Here in the 1865 census in Lødingen, Nordland fylke, is the same couple jkmarler posted:
http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/ft/person/pf01038375001587

Here is the 1875 census, same family:
http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/ft/person/pf01052431002651

When seeking a target individual, the more family you can name, the better; it's easier to find groups of people, than to find individuals.

Place names are helpful too.

Geni family tree for the Johanne Karoline Jensdatter in Nordland:

The dates on the tree don't match the opening statement...

Another possible:
http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/kb/vi/person/pv00000001866288

The actual marriage #11, Johanne's father is recorded as Jens Olsen rather than Jens Eriksen but...
Source information: Oppland county, Østre Toten, Parish register (official) nr. 2 (1840-1847), Marriage records 1845, page 184.
Permanent pagelink: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=8954&idx_id=8954&uid=ny&idx_side=-130

Based on original posters post with more info this is probably the right couple

Johannes' findagrave memorial:
http://findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=olson&GSfn=johanne&GSbyrel=all&GSdyrel=all&GSst=14&GScntry=4&GSob=n&GRid=62956620&df=all&

However Johanne's birthplace is given as Ostre Toten as well and not Fjellberg Aust Agder but that could be clarified with further research.

Hi

Kristian Johan Høien (Høyer?) found by jkmarler is a Olsen. His father was Ole Johan Høien (Høyer?); no 4:

Permanent sidelenke: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=9633&idx_id=9633&uid=ny&idx_side=-65
Permanent bildelenke: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:NBN:no-a1450-kb20070601610260.jpg

He is born 1827 and not 1823 as the original poster's ancestor and he did not die 1897 because he is found in the 1900 census:
http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/ft/person/pf01037532003439

and in the 1910 census:

Hi johnsonlori94,

Since Johanne Caroline Jensdatter and Johannes Olsen are ancestors you seek, then they must have had a child who is an ancestor. What is the name of the child, when was he/she born, and where was he/'she born?

And can you tell the forum where Johanne Caroline Jensdatter was born, or where she lived, or died?

At the moment, the forum is not sure who you are talking about.

Jane

Okay thanks, but that is not what we need, so I guess my question wasn't clear. The forum does not know WHICH Johanne Caroline Jensdatter you are talking about. There is more than one Johanne Caroline Jensdatter. Where was your Johanne Caroline Jensdatter born? Who were her children? Where and when were her children born?

Always tell WHERE someone lived, right away. Tell about her parent and her children if you can. Tell everything you know, right away. That way, others can help you.

We have talked about this before. Give MORE information, right at the start.

Hope that helps explain what I meant.

Thank you very much for responding. I hope we can help.

Johanne's, the wife of Johannes Olson, find agrave memorial:
http://findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=105555152

OP's updated information of birthdate and place for Johanne probably not correct

Johanne (no Caroline noted) Jensdatter b. 8 June 1823 #113 right hand page:
Source information: Oppland county, Toten, Parish register (official) nr. 10 (1820-1828), Birth and baptism records 1823, page 54.
Permanent pagelink: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=9321&idx_id=9321&uid=ny&idx_side=-55

I searched for Johanne above's confirmation but did not find, so likely as not she has died or moved before that time, anyway the she was the only Johanne Jensdatter born in Toten between 1821-1825.

It is not Fjellberg, Aust Agder; Hedmark; nor Telemark. Apparently a few people have been trying to find her origins and clicked on offered candidates. I wonder if this has happened with Johannes also.

The family did leave Norway in 1850, the two parents and one child #24-26 at the bottom of the right hand page:
Source information: Oppland county, Østre Toten, Parish register (official) nr. 3 (1848-1856), Migration records 1849-1852, page 262.
Permanent pagelink: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=8955&idx_id=8955&uid=ny&idx_side=-195

Here is an Helene born in 1845 #99 but if she is the child of theirs, there is a bit of glitch, her mother's name is given as Helena rather than Johanne:
Source information: Oppland county, Østre Toten, Parish register copy nr. 2 (1840-1847), Birth and baptism records 1845, page 34.
Permanent pagelink: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=9317&idx_id=9317&uid=ny&idx_side=-37

There is another Helene born in 1845 to a Johannes Olsen and a Jensdatter, #127 but her mother is recorded as Ingeborg Jensdatter.

The list of children is from Johannes Olson's FAG memorial (link posted to it above):
Hellen C Olson (1845 - 1932)*
Maria Olson Hennum (1850 - 1928)*
Martin Olson (1852 - 1924)*
Ole J. Olson (1854 - 1941)*
Clara Olson Peterson (1856 - 1946)*
Josephine Olson Johnson (1857 - 1941)*

Marriage of Johannes Olsen, Dalsrud and Johanne Jensdatter Lie
07 April 1845
Østre Toten, Oppland
http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:NBN:no-a1450-kb20070603750571.jpg

"Østre" means eastern.
Find a Grave biography says this couple was married at Ester Toten. There is no such place as Ester Toten, so probably this is a family story, not research, in which "Østre" and "Eastern" got blended.

Johanne Olsen gravestone reads "Johannes" Olsen, but a note says the name Johanna is written across the top. Find a Grave photo show the inscribed birth date 02 Aug 1821.

The photo shows Johannes Olsen name with inscribed birth date of 31 Dec 1823.

Discussion here:

Here is the birth 17 Aug 1821, Nes, Hedmark, that is referenced in the discussion -
Johanne Jensdatter born to Jens Olsen and ElIne Jensdatter:
