I know these messages are from a couple years ago but I just found them. I'm looking into information about Konrad and Jacobia Paaske and where they came from in Norway. I know when they arrived in the US and what happened after that, I just don't know about their lives in Norway. If you are still using this site, I would appreciate your help with that. If you still need information about them on the US side, I could help you with that. Thanks!

There are a couple of clues in the original poster's posts saying they came through Trondheim and and were from an island of the coast. Their name Paaske might also offer a clue. Svein-tor may not or may not be monitoring and he apparently didn't sign up for the within NorwayHeritage email system so he can't be contacted directly.

Konrad leaving in 1886:

Residence at time of departure is Tjøto.

Ole leaving:

Possibly Konrad living in 1875. although birithyear and Andreas is father's name not Olaus makes it suspect:

Here is a possible Jacobia Olsdatter in 1865:

Here are some records from Ancestry.com that seem to fit your couple. They also fit some of the records posted above by Jackie.

Here is a description of the parishes held on that film at familysearch :

"Contains parish registers from the parishes Herøy, Tjøtta and Nordvik with Hæstad chapel. Herøy and Tjøtta was separated from Alstahaug clerical district in 1862, for the years 1776-1862 see Alstahaug clerical district."

Very likely the family in the 1865 Census. Birth year for Jacobi is way off making her a little difficult to find.

1865

To take the family of Olaus Christiansen and Ulrikke Christine back in time I would like to have a marriage record for the couple. I did find a marriage record for an Olaus Christiansen and Ulrike Christine that would seem to fit however the brides last name is listed as Pedersdatter and we know from the 1865 Census found by Jackie that her maiden name should be Ulrikke Christine Christiansdatter. Hard to imagine that there are many marriages with the names of Olaus and Ulrikke so maybe there is an error in the Ancestry.com transcription.

Olaus Christiansen
in the Norway, Select Marriages, 1660-1926
Name: Olaus Christiansen
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Birth Date: 1818
Marriage Date: 10 nov 1843
Marriage Place: Kolvereid, Nord Trondelag, Norway
Father: Christian Nilsen
Spouse: Ulrikke Christine Pedersdr
FHL Film Number: 125344
Reference ID: 2:1LXHNK6

Name: Ulrikke Christine Pedersdr
[Ulrikke Christine Paashsen]
Gender: Female
Age: 23
Birth Date: 1820
Marriage Date: 10 nov 1843
Marriage Place: Kolvereid, Nord Trondelag, Norway
Father: Peder Paashsen
Spouse: Olaus Christiansen
FHL Film Number: 125344
Reference ID: 2:1LXHNK6

Here is a link to the original record. It is not easy to read and the name of the brides father seems to have been written over. So I am going with the explanation that her name really is Ulrikke Christine Christiansdatter and the marriage record is incorrect.

Finding the parents of Ulrikke Christina is also a struggle. I think her fathers name is Christian Bugge Paaske. Referred to in various records as both Christian and Bugge. Here is my candidate for the baptism record for Ulrikke.

Uldrikka Christina
in the Norway, Births and Christenings, 1648-1903
Name: Uldrikka Christina
Gender: Female
Christening Age: 0
Birth Date: 10 sep 1820
Christening Date: 15 okt 1820 (15 Oct 1820)
Christening Place: Naeroy, Nord-Trondelag, Norway
Father: Bugge Paaske
Mother: Anne Marie Paaske

And the original record

This seems to be the family in the 1801 Census. Father is Jens Christian Paasche and mother is Christiana Beata Lemvig living in Bjørnør parish, Sør-Trøndelag. One of the children is named Christian Bugge Paasche.

1801

It is going to take some work and digging to sort all of this out. It may be that you will need to use the various Bygdebøker that cover this northern part of Norway to insure that you have the family line correct.

I also stumbled across a online Family Tree for this family. It has the advantage that unlike most online Family Trees it does have what appear to be very good sources. Scroll down to the bottom of this page and you will see Christiana Beata Lemvig her husband Jens Christian Paasche and a list of their children

Taking on the ancestry of Olaus Christiansen bon about 1818, I would propose that this is his baptism record.

Olaus
in the Norway, Births and Christenings, 1648-1903
Name: Olaus
Gender: Male
Christening Age: 0
Birth Date: 1 sep 1818
Christening Date: 18 okt 1818 (18 Oct 1818)
Christening Place: Kolvereid, Nord-Trondelag, Norway
Father: Christian Nielsen
Mother: Sara Larsdr

Original record is number 8, farm is Eidshaug

#8

Probably the marriage of the parents

Sara Larsdr
in the Norway, Select Marriages, 1660-1926
Name: Sara Larsdr
Gender: Female
Age: 36
Birth Date: 1782
Marriage Date: 27 des 1818 (27 Dec 1818)
Marriage Place: Kolvereid, Nord Trondelag, Norway
Spouse: Christian Nielsen
FHL Film Number: 125344
Reference ID: 2:1LXH6KR

Original record number 2 right hand page

#2

Likely Christian Nielsen in 1801 Census, living with his mother and her second husband on Ramfiord.

1801

Based on the farm Ramfiord listed in the 1801 Census and the mothers name I would think this is the Baptism record for Christian.

Christian Ramfiord
in the Norway, Select Baptisms, 1634-1927
Name: Christian Ramfiord
Gender: Male
Baptism Date: 1783
Baptism Place: Kolvereid, Nord-Trøndelag, Norway
Father: Niels Ramfiord
Mother: Elne Jens Dr
FHL Film Number: 125349
Reference ID: bk 1

Original record is first baptism down on the left hand page.

This is likely the Sara Larsdatter in the 1801 Census. Living with her mother and her mothers second husband.

1801

Fortunately we do not have a lot of candidates, Here is the only one.

Sara Boleta Finne
in the Norway, Select Baptisms, 1634-1927
Name: Sara Boleta Finne
Gender: Female
Baptism Date: 23 mar 1783
Baptism Place: Kolvereid, Nord Trondelag, Norway
Father: Lars Finne
Mother: Karen
FHL Film Number: 125349

Original record is first baptism record on the right hand page

Link

A online Family Tree with some sources indicates that this is Karen Andersdatte born in 1747

Link

It is going to be worth your while to learn how to use a Bygdbok to source the information. Here is the one this tree used.

Nærøy bygdebok I. Gårder og slekter i Foldereid 1600-1964, Kåre Leirvik, (Nærøy Kommune. Nærøy).

You can use the library at University of North Dakota by email and have then search the relevant books for you.
