Might this be him and his family in the 1921 Canadian Census. It is not qutte the spelling you used but it is close.

Does not look good for Herman Hansen based on Jackie findings. Need more information on his life in Canada from the OP. Until then maybe this one.

Herman Hansen, born in Fredrikshal (Halden) April 4 1875, see #90.
His parents were carpenter Anders Hansen and Kristine Gundersdatter.
His parents were married May 17 1861, see #15.

Kristine Gundersdatter was born Dec 19 1834, and baptized Kirstine July 24 1835, see #58.
Her parents were Gunder Peersen and Anne Svendsdatter.
