Hello, I am traveling to Vestnes, Norway (staying in Andalsnes June 20-25) and am hoping to visit with relatives and/or see any areas where my ancestors may have lived.

My great grandfather, Anders Jacobson Salthammer (1862-1949) was born in Vestnes Parish and had two brothers (Borge Jakobsen, 1865-1954; Mads (Matt) Jakobsen (1874-1953) and a sister (Ane Jakobsen (1871-1907). Hi parents were Jakob Kristofferson (b. 1830) and Andrina Andersdotter Neras (b. 1837). From what I can tell, these families go back for decades, in the Vestnas area.

My great grandfather "AJ" came to the US in 1884, settled in North Dakota, owned a store and had six children: (Lise (1887), Lars Anderson (1890), Adoph Anderson (1892), Michael Anderson (1892), Arthur Malvin (1895), and Mamie Christine, my grandmother (1897).

Does anyone have any advice for meeting people or seeing relevant places?
