The Iver Endresen in Hardanger, Hordaland, Norway is not a very good match. That boy's parents left Norway at the end of the 1860s. It would be doubtful that they would leave a child born in 1864 behind who would only leave himself in the 1880s. Also the published book which includes the Jaastad farm there does not mention any children born to that couple before they left.
I have family history myself on the Jaastad (Jåstad) farm in Hordaland. I don't remember any 'Nyhagen' farm nearby in my own research.

Here is the parish register listing of Iver Endresen Jørstad leaving #11 and possibly his sister Ragnhild and her child #9 & #10: SAH, Øystre Slidre prestekontor, Ministerialbok nr. 2, 1874-1886, s. 465 Brukslenke for sidevisning: https://media.digitalarkivet.no/kb20070118330711

Iver Nyhagen married Margit Vold in Kandiyohi county, Minnesota from MOMS: KANDIYOHI E-058 05/26/1890 NYHAGEN, IVER VOLD, MAGRIT O
Probably Iver as Newhagen in Goodhue county in 1885: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MQFQ-M49 |

I think we've found our Iver! Yes, the Nyhagen's settled in and around Baldwin, WI and the family members in the 1905 census match. So we can conclude with confidence that Iver Jorstad emigrated to America in the spring of 1883 from Øystre Slidre / the Sjaaheim farm. Thank you again! |

Maybe, However the arrival shows that there are three, Iver, wife Ragnhild and son Knud.
Iver A Jorstad in the Pennsylvania, Passenger and Crew Lists, 1800-1962 Name: Iver A Jorstad [Iver Endresen] Arrival Age: 19 Birth Date: abt 1864 Birth Place: Norway Last Residence: Norway Port of Departure: Liverpool, England Arrival Date: 28 May 1883 Port of Arrival: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Ship: Lord Gough
However a Ancestry.com user has posted that Ragnhild is the sister of Iver and Knud is her son by a father with the last name of Olsen? |

Look at the link to the utflyttedes from Oystre Slidre. Ragnhild Endresdatter is a "pige". I suspect she is the sister Ragnhild b 1856 found in the 1865 census. In the parish register the child is listed as Knut Olsen not Iverson.
It's probably more of a mystery how Iver Jorstad becomes Iver Nyhagen since it appears to have happened rapidly 1883 to 1885. |

So maybe this is the baptism of Knud, should be last name of Olsen by Norwegian naming practice.
Knud Iversen in the Norway, Select Baptisms, 1634-1927 Name: Knud Iversen Gender: Male Birth Date: 22 nov 1879 Baptism Date: 4 des 1879 (4 Dec 1879) Baptism Place: Vestre Slidre, Oppland, Norway Father: Ole Iversen Mother: Ragnhild Endresdatter FHL Film Number: 1282584 Reference ID: b4 p24 n51
#51
She does carry the Jorstad farm name in the original record |

The farmhistory book for Øystre Slidre tells that Endre Knudsen & Ragnhild Engbretsdotter had a son Ivar who emigrated to America. The book says they lived on "Sjåheim", which is a bit south of Nyhagen. They had more children, atleast daughters Marit and Synnev. Endre was a widower for more than 30 years. A note about Endre Knutsen (1817-1898) says that he was born with defects on his legs/feet, and that he walked on his ankles, or rather lateral malleolus as its called in english? But it didn't bother him much, and he was a great worker.
Likely children to Endre & Ragnhild: Marit Endresdr birth: 03 Nov 1846 Ragnild Endresdr birth: 26 Jan 1848 Sigrid Endresdr birth: 14 Feb 1850 Synnev Endresdr birth: 06 Oct 1852 Knud Endresen birth: 01 Oct 1854 Ragnhild Endresdr birth: 21 Dec 1856 Nils Endresen birth: 27 Jun 1860 Ivar Endresen birth...?
Interesting enough, is a farm called Woll nearby. I noticed that Ivars wife Margareth was named Margareth Wold at one instance.

Ragnild Endresdatter born 21 Dec 1856- died 1934 married Halvor Olsen, according to Find-a-Grave: link
FAG notes say Ragnild's name is recorded in a Pierce county, Wisconsin, record book as "Nyhagen." Note says Nyhagen was a mistake - not realizing that "Nyhagen" and "Endresdatter" can both be correct.
Bio for Ragnild's son Knute Olsen on Find-a-Grave -- written by a granddaughter of Knute: link

#2 Endre Knudsen death as a resident Langedal (the same farm Ragnhild Endresdatter left from in 1883): SAH, Øystre Slidre prestekontor, Ministerialbok nr. 5, 1887-1916, s. 57 Brukslenke for sidevisning: https://media.digitalarkivet.no/kb20051103021471

perhaps, there was a connection between Iver and margarit's families back in Norway. She was 9 years older and they married in west central MN which is probably 150 miles from goodhue, mn (first census Iver is listed). |
