New here so please bear with me. My great-grandfather, Andreas Christiansen, signed a contract in October 1908 with Charles Bennett of the Allan Line. He was 44 years old at the time. Only he is on the contract, not his wife Lise or any of their children, who also came to the United States at some point. His U.S. Naturalization papers say port of arrival Winnepeg, Manitoba April 5, 1910. Name of vessel is not recorded, nor manner of arrival at boundry. The Allan Line contract has Kenora, Ontario on it so I thought that would be the port of arrival. Point of departure is Kristiania. Would Andreas have worked to make payments on the contract from 1908-1910? Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi I don't know about the contract but here is Andreas on the Digitalarkivet emigrants sailing from Kristiania 1871-1921
Andreas sailing on the Oslo which would have gone to Hull England and then he would have sailed on a different ship from there. If he went to Canada, probably to Quebec or Montreal.
Here is Lise sailing to Minnesota in 1910

I also found them in the 1900 census living in Oslo.
