My great great grandfather Arnon 'amon' Peterson was born in Fluberg, Oppland Norway in 1866. He married a woman named Johanna.
I don't believe his last name was always Peterson. I believe it was changed when he emigrated to the US.
My grandfather told me our last name used to be Torgrimstruen, which is the name of a farm in fluberg. Can anyone help me find a birth record or marriage record for arnon peterson or his family.

Perhaps the family on Torgrimstuen in the 1865 Census. Before your ancestor was born.

Might be this one born to the same family but in 1866, in the 1875 Census. Name is Amund Pettersen on the farm named Torgrimstue ĝvre

He was born on Dec 17, 1866 and baptized on Jan 13, 1867.

Sĝndre Land 1900.
Amund Pettersen and Johanna Nocolaisdatter were "Forpagter" hired a farm under farm Sedal Sĝndre.
They had 3 sons, Karl Melvin -94, Peder -96 and Nils -99, they were all born in America, see 844-848 Link

They em. 1905 on ship Romeo, dest. Boston, Amund was already a citizen of America Link
They left farm Prestegċrdseiet, a sub farm under the vicarage.
Homestead for all five were America.
Did Amund already have a house in Boston?
The tickets were pre paid and had they had 100 Kroner with them. |
