| Hi We are planning a trip to Norway in Aug. We would like to drive by the Huseby Hagan in Royken. Can anyome tell me where it was. My husband in 1/2 Norwegian and would like to see if there any family still near there. Gr Grandfather was Bernt Peder , wife Henrika Kaspersud, sons Edvart Bernts, daughters, Karoline Berntsdatter, Bergithe Berntsdatter, and Hanna Berntsdatter. Thank You |

It is not an easy task finding descendants from a couple who occupied the farm in 1865. Here is a link to the 1865 Census showing what appears to be your husbands ancestors on the Husebyhagen farm. You can try to follow at least some part of the family forward in time. The more information that you can gather on descendants the more likely that when you contact a source such as Røyken Historielag (Røyken Historical Society), that Jan Peter steered you to, the better prepared you will be to converse with them.

Sometimes you can find descendants from online Family Trees. Here is some information from My Heritage a subscription site on one of the daughters
Birgitte Eliassen Vikene (born Berntsdatter), 1854 - 1904
Birgitte Eliassen Vikene (born Berntsdatter) was born on month day 1854, at birth place, to Bernt Pedersen and Henrikke (Henrika Kaspersdatter) Pedersen (born Caspersdatter).
Bernt was born on March 28 1817, in Røken, (Røyken). Buskerud, Norge.
Henrikke was born on May 2 1820, in Hyggen i Røyken, Buskerud, Norge.
Birgitte had 3 siblings: Hanna Emilie Eilertsen (born Berntsdatter) and 2 other siblings.
Birgitte married Anders Eliassen Vikene.
Anders was born on July 28 1856, in Vikene, Filtvet, Hurum, Buskerud, Norway.
His occupation was Ship Kaptein.
They had 7 children: Kristian Eliassen Vikene, Bernt Elias Eliassen and 5 other children.
Birgitte passed away on month day 1904, at age 49.

I notice that Birgitte was still alive in 1900 so likely to be found in the 1900 Norwegian Census.
This is likely her with husband and family in the 1900 Norwegian Census. So you have moved at least one descendant into the 1900's.

There are two Family Trees for Bergitta Berntsdatter on another subscription site, Ancestry.com. It looks like a goodly number of the girls came to America about 1905 and ended up in the state of Washington. Here is one of them.

The boys seem to have scattered within Norway so finding descendants is not going to be an easy task and finding ones near the original farm is even harder.

A second daughter is also found on My Heritage website
Hanna Emilie Eilertsen (born Berntsdatter) was born on month day 1862, at birth place, to Bernt Pedersen and Henrika Pedersen (born Caspersdatter).
Bernt was born on March 28 1817, in Røken, Buskerud, Norway.
Henrika was born on May 2 1820, in Hyggen i Røken, Buskerud, Norway.
Hanna was baptized on month day 1862, at baptism place.
She had 6 siblings: Edvard Berntsen, Caroline Berntsdatter and 4 other siblings.
Hanna married Hans Ejlertsen.
Hans was born in Høyda.
They had one son: Emil Bertinius Hansen Røisjø.
Hanna lived in 1862, at address.
Hanna passed away.
Emil married Eva Bullen born in England in 1908, they had one child Jørg Haakon born in 1914. Here is Eva with her family in the 1900 Norwegian Census.

In 1910 Norwegian Census Emil and Eva Hansen are living in Sande Vestfold, seems as if the mother Hanna Berntsdatter is still alive and living with them.

| Bernt Pedersen and Henrikka had an older son Ola(v)u born 4 Nov 1848 in Royken. In 1865 he was a ervant at Sondre Olstad farm in Royken . Olaus wife Marthe Ellefsdatter Kolsrudeie was born 11 Ar 1842 in Sigdal, Buskerud . Marthe emigrated (singl) in 1871 from Oslo with her brother John. Olaus emigrated also in 1871. They were in Fennimore, Wisconson USA. Married 1873 they had 10 children. Let me know if there is interest of all the children. My husband s Grandfather was Conrad Huseby 1884 - 1954. Olaus died 11 June 1927 in Hendrum, Minn USA |

In one of your other posts jwiborg gave you a link to the Society's website. The website is in Norwegian of course but at the very bottom of the first page is an email address (E-post) Click on that and an email form pops up. You can send them an email in English as in my experience most Norwegian read, write and speak very good English.
