Hi, I’m trying to read this http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=8434&idx_id=8434&uid=ny&idx_side=-93
The first entry under July is regarding Abraham Smeds daughter, Kari. But I can’t make out what the rest reads. All records of Abraham Smed ends in this book and I was hoping that his wife’s name would be mentioned somewhere or maybe his actual last name, not just smed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Marie Jensen |

There are four transcribed records for an Abraham in Lier, Buskerud for 1660 to 1690.
A Giert born in 1691 to Abraham Smed. The transcription of this record has this statement. "K:Marte Lars Hennembs bar barnet"
I would translate the K as Kone and the rest as Marte Larsdatter Hennembs carried the child The farm is likely Hennum, Lier. There are five farms with that name.
1691
Basically look at the last sentence on the left page that begins with 29 ditto
Link
And the one in 1688 is transcribed a unnamed child with the father named as Abraham Suends. Maybe the last name is some version of the more modern Svendsen.
1688
Here is a link to the original record. It is the last record in May on the left page. Very difficult to read.

There was a 1665 "census" of males in Lier, Buskerud. That only finds 3 males with the given name of Abraham. Abraham Mathisen; Abraham Eliassen; Abraham Jacobsen. http://gda.arkivverket.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=mt06261663prest
You might consider checking those three against the information in the Lier bygdebøker - “Liers Historie”, series of 6 volumes by Rolf Fladby, Ola Bjerkas and Steffen Gausemel. |

Wow, thank you for the quick answer and the great information. I will check the link suggested. My confusion is now why his son Giert Abrahamsen, also called himself by the last name of Reinert (or Reiner). Doesn’t tie together with Mathisen, Eliassen or Jacobsen. The plot thickens... Thank you! Marie |
