I am looking for Andreas or Anders Hellesen who was serving in the merchant marines in Trondheim at least in the 1830's. I would like to find out more information about him. He died in 1839. |

Rereading the previous postings about this family courtesy of the link from Hopkins, it looks as if we left a lot to be discovered. I wonder if this is not Anders Hellesen. His birth year in this 1801 Census is listed as 1794. May or may not be correct. Also found by Kåre and JaneC back in 2016. Maybe a bit young and according to the Tree's found by Jane not the right one but maybe worth taking a harder look at him.
1801
The father in the 1801 Census fits the father in the marriage record for Widower Andreas Hellesen and Ane Iversdatter, posted by Einar but the birth year is off by ten years.

Did not find a Anders Hellesen in Trondenes , Troms, Norway in either 1784 or 1794 born to Helle Hegesen. Found other children born then ie Michel in 1784. However did find a Anders born in 1791. Transcriber spells it Aders but looks to me like Anders in the original record. Parents seem to match the 1801 Census.
Aders Ursin Hellesen in the Norway, Select Baptisms, 1634-1927 Name: Aders Ursin Hellesen Gender: Male Baptism Date: 16 okt 1791 (16 Oct 1791) Baptism Place: Trondenes , Troms, Norway Father: Helle Hellesen Mother: Anne Malona Olsdr FHL Film Number: 127168 Reference ID: 2:J21R29

The Family Tree posted by JaneC back in 1016 shows this Anders married in 1817 and having a child in 1829. Probably the correct one as one of the witnesses for the baptism of Maren Anna born Sept 29, 1829 is a Hartvig Hellesen also one of the chidden of Helle Hellesen and Maren Olsdatter .

A little digging put the Anders Hellesen born 1791 to rest. In 1865 his wife Kirsten Nielsdatter was living with her duaghter and her husband. Thus this Anders Hellesen likely died before his wife not after. Making him an unlikely candidate to be the same Anders Hellesen widower who married Ane Iversdater in 1835.

Back to square one. There are only three And* Hel* in the 1801 Census from the Northern counties.
Anders Hellesen born about 1782 living on his own in 1801 as a Tjenestfolk in Gildeskål, Nordland, Posted by Kåre in 2016.
b 1782
Anders Hellonsen born about 1794 living with his family in Opdal, Sør-Trøndelag. Father is Hellon Andersen.
b 1794
Probably married Marithe Evensdatter in 1818
#21
An Andreas Hellingsen born about 1783 serving as a Granader ved 1ste regiment in Trondheim. Father unknown. Living at Bersvend Veiten
b 1783 |

Here is a perhaps interesting connection. In the marriage record for Andreas Hellesen and Ane Iversdatter Svee the witness are Ole Mahle and Peder Myhre in Trondheim.
#7
In baptism record for Iver Andreas b 1835 one of the witnesses is Peder P Myhre
#44
And in the 1865 Census it seems as if Iver Andreas Hellesen is living in the same household as Peder Myhre
1865
Probably the Tree for Peder Myhre, also Peder Larsen. (not middle name with P?]

In your other topic you asked for census for the area between 1820 and 1840. How about one taken in 1815?
This is the link to the first page of Rode 1: SAT, Census 1815 for Trondheim (transcript), 1815, p. 321 Quick link: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/ft20110309640321

In this Forum discussion the only candidate the OP was interested in is the soldier found in the 1801 Census living in Trondheim.

I still have not ruled out the Anders Hellesen from Gildeskål, Nordland found by Kåre back in 2016.
1801
However his father is not named Helge Helgesen.
Anders Helgesen in the Norway, Select Baptisms, 1634-1927 Name: Anders Helgesen Gender: Male Baptism Date: 21 apr 1782 Baptism Place: Gildeskaal, Nordland, Norway Father: Helge Johanssen Mother: Maria Hansdr FHL Film Number: 125096 Reference ID: 2:12F6SVT
The farm name on his baptism record is Mornes same as on the 1801 Census. Second column from the left, middle of the page
