Martin Martinsen born 10 sep 1866, baptized 10 march 1867 in Brandval,Hedmark. He was born out of wedlock and lived with his mother and her new husband in Grue in the 1875 census. Last signal from him known to me is confirmation in Grue 30 oct. 1881. There are 2 Martin Martinsen from Grue that emigrated in 1887 and1887. Could this one I found in New York census 1915 be the right one?

No, I do not think Jens is the right man. Date of birth, name of parents also incorrect. And why change name to Jens. The 2 in the emigration records, are they traceable?

Here is the transcribed record for him.

Martin Martinmer
in the New York, Passenger and Crew Lists (including Castle Garden and Ellis Island), 1820-1957
Name: Martin Martinmer
Arrival Date: 6 May 1887
Birth Date: abt 1866
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Ethnicity/ Nationality: German
Place of Origin: Germany
Port of Departure: Liverpool, England and Queenstown, Ireland
Destination: Massachusetts
Port of Arrival: New York, New York, USA
Ship Name: City of Richmond

I am not sure I would trust the destination of Massachusetts as that is next to the person 13 places above Martin.
