I was surprised to see a skifte as late as 1867 available, but disappointed to find very little genealogy help from it. The information was from two books, the first had "proceedings" in the title, the second "division record". The shorter proceedings record seems like a summary with the final adjudication given. Nicolai had nine children at ages 3 to 20 at his death at age of 45, but I can't find one child mentioned in either entry. The widow Kirsten Ellefsdatter was mentioned several times and appears to have signed at the bottom (although it could be someone signed on her behalf). There is a Niels Olsen who also signed; I don't know who he is. The only other relative mentioned is Nicolai's brother, Lars. My conclusion is that there was no estate for the children after the debts were paid. I believe it says the widow is to go with Niels Olsen to Huseland farm. I believe that was the case as one of the younger children died at Huseland in 1872.
