I am interested in finding information on my great grandmother, Nilsine Nilssen, who traveled from Hemnesberget, Ranafjord, Nordland with her mother, Antonette Jensine Nilssen and sisters Albertine, Kornelia and brother Didrik I believe in 1895 to the US. Their destination was Hayward, Wisconsin.

Interesting, my husband and I travelled to the Hemnes parish in Hemnesberget, Norway in 2000, visited with relatives, was in the house that his greatgrandfather was born, met second cousins, worshipped in the Hemnes parish church, found the second farmstead that they lived on.Hemnesberget was a charming small town, people friendly. Wish I could help you find your relatives. A geneologist I had accidentally met helped me. Her relatives were from the same area of Norway. His grandparents lived around Baldwin, Wisconsin. We live in Lake Elmo,Minnesota.
