My grandparents, Hans and Gina Lovstad, came to the US from Norway in 1882.I am looking for any information about them or possible family connections. In the US our name spelling was changed to Lovestead.

Maybe Gina's brother bought the Løvstad farm when they emigrated?

I think the birth day given in the wedding record is slightly incorrect. Here it is given as 14 Nov 1819.

Karen Kristine Gulbrandsdatter was born June 16, 1826.

Father is Gulbrand Hanssen Lofstad and mother is Margethe Halvorsdatter. Birth parish is Skedsmo, Akershus.

They are listed at the bottom of the 1865 Norwegian Census living with Ole and Karen. It lists them as his father (hans fader} but they are actually her parents.

In the 1865 Census Gulbrand Hansen is listed as having been born in 1799. This is likely him with his parents Hans Nielsen and Dorte Olsdatter in the 1801 Census on Løvstad.
