Here I list age at death, and cause, for my great-grandmother and 5 siblings, all raised on a farm at Aase, Hordaland...near Alversund. Synneve: age 58, kidney disease; brother Lars: age 46, kidney inflammation; sister Magdali: age 46, dropsy; brother Johannes: age 65, nephritis; brother Kristian, age 41, cancer; sister Larsine: age 20, rheumatic fever. All born mid-1800s.
In our day, this would be considered a very poor family health history. My question: for their time and place, was this unusual?
