I can’t begin to thank you both for finding these for my family. It’s been a busy weekend here so finally getting around to reading and replying but this is amazing! It’s so interesting to see our family’s history in the Mo area. Ive been trying to pinpoint the Lofthuss farm area and this further depends the mystery of where they may have made their homes! Our family is trying to put together a trip to Norway in the next year and this information will be a huge help as we go explore our birthland! Again, thank you so so much for finding these!

I do not know if you have access to Ancestry.com but there is a tree on there that takes the family line of Aasne Drengsdatter back to

Kjetil Tjostovsen
1545–1629
BIRTH 1545 • Vistad Farm, Tokke, Vestfold og Telemark, Norway
DEATH 1629 • Vistad Farm, Tokke, Vestfold og Telemark, Norway

The owner of the Tree used the new designation of the counties of Norway and so uses Vestfold and Telemark.

The tree is well sourced through Ancestry.com similar to what I did above so may be fairly accurate. Once he runs out of Ancestry.com sources the tree is unsourced the rest of the way.

The tree is sourced fairly well back to

Steinar Gjermundsen
1690–1766
BIRTH 1690 • Dalen, Tokke, Vestfold og Telemark, Norway
DEATH 1766 • Vestfold og Telemark, Norway

I usually like to see if I can find a Tree on Geni.com that has the same family. In this case the tree starts for your family with Dreng Torjussen. In Geni.com tree called Knud (Dreng) Torjussen.

Knut (Dreng) Torjusson Åsland (Bilstad)
Gender: Male
Birth: 1757
Death: 1813 (55-56)
Immediate Family:
Son of Torjus Steinarsson Åsland and Ingebjørg Drengsdtr Åsland
Husband of Anne Torjusdotter Flekstveit and Margit Vetlesdtr Grimdalen

The family line looks like this and is the same as the one on Ancestry.com. That is somewhat positive.

1. Knut (Dreng) Torjusson Åsland b. 1757; d. 1813
2. Torjus Steinarsson Åsland b. 1730; d. 1804
3. Steinar Gjermundsson Vistadhaugen Viken b. 1690; d. 1766
4. Gjermund Olavson Vistad b. 1648, Mo, Tokke, Telemark, Norway; d. 1697, VistadMo, Missouri, United States
5. Olav Torbjørnson Vistad b. 1604, Vistad; d. 1668, Vistad, Telemark, Norway
6. Torbjørn Kjetilson Vistad b. 1570, Vistad,,,; d. 1640, Vistad,,,
7. Kjetil Tjøstovson Vistad b. 1545, Vistad, Mo, Tokke, Telemark, Norway; d. 1629, Dalen, Telemark, Norway
8. Tjøstov Vistad b. circa 1500
