I am seeking information about Hendrik Anderson and his wife Bertha. They immigrated to the USA in 1863 and settled in Wisconsin. From US census data, I think that Hendrik was born around 1807 and Bertha and born about 1835. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

CarolAnn from Wisconsin

Hi I found Hendrik on the 1880 US census
It looks like he is living with his son Petter and another son Johan is living there also.
The info you have now is very little to go on to search in Norway. You need to get as much info as you can in the US, death, marriage, naturalization records and birth records of children born in the US. One of these may give you a hint as to where they came from in Norway or a farm name.

I almost forgot you have an excellent research center in Madison Wisconsin Vesterheim Genealogical Center & Naeseth Library
http://www.vesterheim.org/genealogy.html
You might be able to locate information there if you live close.
