I am looking for any information on Architect Hans Peter Henschien born in Kristiania in 1881. He emigrated to New York in 1902 and moved on to Chicago where he started his own firm specializing in design of meat packing plants. He died in Chicago Feb 12 1959.
He was married to Dorothy and had a daughter named Karen.

Census record 1900, Hansteens Gade 7, Kristiania:
Hans Peter Henschien Arkitekt student b. 1881

In 1875 Vestvolden in Skedsmo, maybe this is his grandfather?:

H. F. Henschien Praktiserende læge=medical practitioner b. 1825 Kongsberg
Pauline Henschien Hans Kone=wife b. 1828 Fet
Sofie Lovise Henschien Datter=daughter b. 1856 Skedsmo
Georg Frederik Henschien Søn og Tilreisende b. 1858 Skedsmo
Christian Henschien Søn og Tilreisende b. 1861 Skedsmo
Hans Jørgen Henschien Tilreisende Bogholder=bookkeeper b. 1855 Lillesand
In Kristiania, St. Olafs Gade 8a:
Peter Henschien (Lodger) Commis i Kreditbanken b. 1852 Lillesand

The forefather of this family may have come to the silver-mines in Kongsberg from Germany some time during the 1700s as an engineer.

Correction: Peter Henschien was son of Peter Lorentz Henschien 1852-1887 and Karen Wrensted. Peter is 13 year old schoolboy in Christiansand in 1865, later he became bank manager. His family is here:

Greetings, my name is Brent Bachus, and I reside in Flossmoor, IL, a south suburb of Chicago. H.P. Henschien was the original architect and owner of my home here; he built the home and lived here with his wife and daughter. I have copies of the original blueprints with his signed name from 1930. Please reach out to me at bachus@sbcglobal.net for additional correspondence...thanks!

Great! Thank you. Do you have a picture of the house? Any idea what happened to the family? I have heard rumors that the daughter Karen got married in Arizona. Does she have any decendants? It has been like a black hole looking for them. I recently found that the firm still exists with a Michigan Ave. address. Wonder if anybody there has any idea what happened. Since they lived in Flossmor, they are most likely buried in the neighborhood. I will try to find out where.

Keep in touch!
