I have currently found some information on my husbands side of the family going back to Norway in the 1700's
Descendants of Ingel Larsson: born and died in Norway dates unknown
His son: Lars Ingelsen Ukkestad Born May 2, 1808 in Priesjeld, Norway on the Ukkestad Farm.

Does anyone know where I can find more information about them, Im looking for what ship Lars came over on, ( He ended up in Fillmore County Minnesota died January 29, 1881.) Lars married a Marthe Olsdatter in June 22, 1841 and they had 4 children before coming to America. I would love to either find pictures or more written history, Im very new to this searching genealogy but find it quite fasinating!!!! Any help or direction would be greatly appriecated!!!

There is a Lars Engelson age 72 on the 1880 US Census, Minnesota which looks like a match.
Click Here Can't get a direct link to the page so you will have to search on the way the name is spelled above. Make sure and select the 1880 US Census in the drop down box.
And if you search on the LDS http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp
for Ukkestad you will find some more records
Another site is the Minnesota Death Certificate Search site
http://people.mnhs.org/dci/Search.cfm
and this is a website for Filmore county
http://www.rootsweb.com/~mnfillmo/
To find the ship try the Digitalarkivet. The link is below.
