Lars came to Polk County, Minnosota,USA around the 1890's with his son Tom(born in Norway 1878. What I'm looking for is there was a daughter by the name of Anne who stayed in Norway and would like to know if there is still family in Norway.
Lars's father was Tomas Lars Segberg (who died in Norway 1868). I believe five children: 1)Jakob: 2)Gunnar: 3)Lars: 4)Astric 5)Knut T.(who also immigrated to USA.
Is someone out there that is related to any of these people, I would love to hear from you. Johanna Segberg

Here is Lars birthrecord, #31 http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=783&idx_id=783&uid=ny&idx_side=-134 he was born on the farm Haugaaes and the father was born on the farm Skreeland.
The birthrecord for Gunder (or Gunnar) is #17 here http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=783&idx_id=783&uid=ny&idx_side=-164, he was born on the farm Lien.
You will find knuds birthrecord #4 here http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=783&idx_id=783&uid=ny&idx_side=-399, he is also born at Lien.
The birth record for Thomas and Annas twinns Jacob and Ole is #2 and3 here http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=784&idx_id=784&uid=ny&idx_side=-28, they still live at Lien and Thore Gunnersdatter, one of the godfathers is most likely Annes sister.
Thomas and Anne had a daughter Astrid in 1866, #58 here http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=784&idx_id=784&uid=ny&idx_side=-66, now they were living at Sædeberg.

Lars and Margit married in 1876, see #10 here http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=6174&idx_id=6174&uid=ny&idx_side=-172
Margit Eyvindsdatters father Eyvind Johnsen was a farmer that rented land and she was a servant at Haugan and was born on the Skomdal farm. Lars was a shoemaker living at Haugan. Their first child was Thomas #17 here http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=6174&idx_id=6174&uid=ny&idx_side=-27, the record does not state where he was born, but since most of the godfathers are from Haugan he was most likely born there.
The first child died July 17 1877 and the second child was therefore named Thomas #19 here http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=6174&idx_id=6174&uid=ny&idx_side=-39, they now live at Tjørn... and Thomas was baptized at home.
Anne was the first daughter #11 here http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=6174&idx_id=6174&uid=ny&idx_side=-57. (Died Oct 27 1881)

Eibache, are these places in Vest-Agder?

On the New York passenger list on the next page, it indicates a Birgit J. Sannes, 24, servant and Ane Gundersdatter, 68 with the same place of origin and destination.

They traveled on the ship Island of the Thingvalla Line, there is information and a picture of this ship on Norway Heritage.

Here they all are on the Kristiansand emigration record:

Anne Gundersdatter, I believe, would be Margit's mother. No mention of here in the 1900 census. In the 1900 census, Lars is a widower.

Sigberg/Segberg's only show up in records in Polk County, MN. There is more information on Sigberg/Segbergs in the free Birth & Death index at the Minnesota Historical Society page. There are two Sigbergs on the Rootsweb.com Social Security Death Index.

Knut & Tarjer Sigberg are buried in Synod Luther Cemetery near Erskine, Polk County, MN Knut died December 28, 1931 and Tarjer died December 15, 1934. Polk County Historical Society database.

No, this is in Aust-Agder, Bygland (click the 1865 census above) - Anne Gundersdatter is Lars mother - see Lars birthrecord.

the second child named Anne is #13 here http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=6174&idx_id=6174&uid=ny&idx_side=-80 (Died Aug 3 1883)
the third Anne is #S2 here http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=6174&idx_id=6174&uid=ny&idx_side=-97, they are now renting room at Sannes, the same farm they left from going to the US

Hi Johanna, just received link to this wonderful site from Johannes...just like christmas getting all this info, parish records etc ...much gratitude to the people who posted all the wonderful links.
Regarding the daughter Anne . My grandmother was Anne b 1888 who came with parents Lars and Margit along with Tomas and baby Carl. According to grandma there was another child named Anne but she died of TB as did the mother Margit. The mother died in Minnesota and I think the first Anne died in Norway. I have no info on bay Carl and I assume he died in Minnesota.
There is a picture in the local history book here of Lars and his daughter(s) Anne, my grandmother and another girl that looks very much like her who I assume to be a sister, perhaps the Tarjers? However in the census for Polk county there is another Lars Larson with daughter Tarjers so I wonder if she was a cousin. My grandmother corresponded with a cousin Betsy but I have not been able to find who that is.
If you want what I have on Segberg family(Larson) for your sons trip let me know. I have found that my grandfather Lars Segberg's father Thomas was a brother to Torbjorn Larson who's son also came to Ordale Sask via Minnesota.
