I am looking for the ship's name and passenger list from when my great-great grandfather Olav Martin Olsen Kvamso immigrated to America in 1886. It is believed he left from Bergen harbour in 1885 and probably sailed to Liverpool, England and from there to New York. Any information or help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Rose Ann

Hi again -

Found a little more.
He probably left on the Tasso for Liverpool on March 21, 1885.

The next ship to New York, was the Umbri, a Cunard ship, leaving Liverpool Mar. 28, arriving New York Apr. 28.
http://www.norwayheritage.com/p_ship.asp?sh=umbri

The arrival for the Umbri should be on Microfilm publication M237, reel #485 Passengers to New York between April 14 and May 9, 1885.

Rose Ann,

I should have stayed in bed this morning.
That should be reel #484 Mar. 17--Apr. 13, 1885.
The ship arrived on April 6 not the 28th as I said earlier.

Pardon my errors,
John
