Not so long ago I printed out passenger lists for various barks and brigs and now I can't find them on this website. It was "transcribed by Berge Solum" It includes the Captain's name.
Can anyone tell me exactly where I found these lists. I remember that there were years listed on the left side to be clicked on.? Alice

Hello Alice

That "Berge Solum" is probably me, and the passenger lists can be found by searching for names of passenger in the database or browsing the Norwegian departures database year by year. Below there is a link saying: "Search for emigrants 1825-1875", you can go there to search , or brows for lists by going to the "Ship index 1825-1925" which is an index of ships leaving Norway, with links to transcribed passenger lists (the small doc. icons)

I've tried everything on this site and never come up with that wonderful screen with the years (maroon color) on the side. Click on the year and there you are with ships names.Click on the ship name and there is a list of the passengers on that ship iin that year. Alice

Dear Alice

It was two years ago that we changed the site to what it looks like today. The amount of material on the site made it very hard to maintain without organizing it in databases. The Database solution also made it possible to arrange different ways of searching. So the old system with the years all in the right frame is gone, instead you will find the years on the page for Index of Norwegian departures 1825-1925 organized as a drop down menu. When you select a year from the drop down menu you will jump to an index of all the Norwegian departures that year, on the top of the page you can navigate to the previous year or the next year. If you are not able to navigate the site let me know what lists you are looking for and I will provide the links to those lists.
