Hi Carolyn

According to the Digitalarkivet your great grandparents emigrated from Røros via Trondhjem in 1882. They were heading for Sioux Falls Dakota, and hat ticket prepaid in America:

Anders P. Sorken g Arbeidsm m 43
Ingrid Sorken g Kone k 40
Peter Sorken ug Søn Arbeidsm m 18
Ingeborg Sorken Datr. k 11
Anna Sorken Datr. k 4
Anders Sorken Søn m 0,75
Berta Sorken g Arbeiderske k 17
Jakob Sorken Søn m 0,5

They departed from Trondhjem (now Trondheim) on May 25 aboard the S/S Hero of the Wilson Line. They had tickets to proceed from Britain on one of the Allan Line steamships, that would probably be the S/S Hanoverian from Glasgow arriving to Quebec 1882-06-08 or the S/S Polynesian from Liverpool arriving to Quebec 1882-06-13. It could also have been another ship.

In the 1865 census you can see Anders and Ingrid living with Anders' parents on the farm Sorken
