Dear JaneC and other listers!

Thank you very much, Jane, for your latest comment.

I have tried searching the Norway cemetery on find-a-grave, but, provided the cemetery record is complete, Ole is not buried there.

It was my hope since this family has been discussed for so many years on NORWAY-HERITAGE, that someone had found some of this information? I notice on ancestry.com there are numerous family trees including Ole and Julia Baker, and I would be surprised if noone living in the neighborhood hadn't already thoroughly researched the local records?

Very sincerely yours,

Lars E. Oyane

I am adding this reply to a very old message string from 2010. I would like to contact the original poster (MAJA502S) with some information about this family but when I tried to message them via the forum's message/email system, it says "You do not have enough posts to email other members. ". So, I am hoping this person will see this reply and email me.

I do have a question though. I have reason to believe that Jens (Yans) Knutsen is the son of Knut Halvorsen and Guri Knutsdatter found on page 221 of Hovin-Soga (Sauro, Rue, Urdal, 1987). I believe that Jens is not shown in Hovin-Soga because the family moved from Hovin to Avaldsnes, Karmøy prior to his birth. Jens and this family is shown in the bygedbok for Karmøy (internet version). However, some of the dates shown in Hovin-Soga do not correspond to those of a family (I believe to be the same family) shown under Ao-56 and Ao-57 starting on page 68 of https://www.slektsforumkarmoy.no/b-bok/Gnr63-Nordstokke.pdf . I am wondering if anyone has any ideas what the source of the dates shown in Hovin-Soga might have come from so I can confirm whether this is the same family shown in the Karmøy bydebok.
