Hello everyone, I have recently started sorting through the data and started rebuilding my family tree database. I have a question though about this particular document

http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=6876&idx_id=6876&uid=ny&idx_side=-110

It is the immigration record for Hans Gerhard Hansen Smilden. He is number 10 for the year 1893. I noticed a date at the end that says May 20th 1893. What does that date correspond to? Is that the actual date of immigration? Thanks in advance!

It is the date for the attestation he was given for his baptism (Nov 23 1873), his confirmation (Sept 29 1889) and the fact that he was unmarried and had been to the (Holy) Communion.

Hi Brad, I just got back into doing research.

Here is Hans Gerhard Hansen (your great grandfather and my great x2 grandfather) in the 1875 Census living on the Smilden farm in Hyllestad with his family.

Hans Jensen born 1830 Head
Halfri hansdtr born 1835 Wife
Mads Hansen born 1865 Son
Hans Gerhard Hansen born 1873 Son
Ingeborg Hansdatter born 1867 daughter
Thrine Jensine Hansdatter born 1871 daughter
Lovise Jensdatter born 1849. Not sure what that word is but I'm guessing some kind of worker?
Ingeborg Hansdatter born 1806 . Listed as Kaarkone which I believe is a type of pensioner, Probably Hans Jensen's mother.
