Hope this isn't too confusing...I believe I found my ggg-grandfather Peder Bersvendsen's christening record for 14 Mar 1802 in Trysil, Hedmark, Norway. (I'm guessing, since all I know is that he was born around 1802 in Rendalens prgj and Rendalen and Trysil are both in Hedmark.) If this is his record it states that his parents are Bersvend Peersen and Helena Olsdr. I looked for them both in the 1801 census and found them both as service people in the same household. Then I searched for a marriage record but only came up with a marriage of Helene Olsdr to a Bersvend ORCORNAS. I am tempted to believe it is my Helena and Bersvend because the marriage occured in Trysil in Jan 1802. I am confused about ORCORNAS, though. I know that in some records the farm name may be used but a search for ORCORNAS has come up with nothing. Does this name sound familiar to anyone? If it's a mistype any idea what the correct name could be? Any thoughts/suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks, Kelly

Dear Kelly, Just a shot in the dark, but there is a farm Østre Næs in Trysil. See the IGI has the name taken from the extraction program spelt Orcornas. Have you seen the original microfilm yourself? If you have an LDS Family History Centre near you, you could order the film, number 0124464, but you'd have to ask someone with experience of reading Scandinavian Gothic script to help you decipher it. Many in the Trysil area came from Sweden or were of Finnish Swedish descent, but I've never heard the name there either, and the christian name Bersvend is typically Norwegian. The ending nes or næs is not uncommon in farm and place names. Good luck in your search! Best wishes from Moss, Norway.

Maggi,
I did order the film from my local FHC. Wish me luck trying to read it! Thanks for your thoughts-I appreciate the help.
