Hello!

I'm just beginning my geneology research and have found info that my great granfather (Carl Olson) is from Dona By The Sea
(on the west coast of Norway). However, I am unable to find any such location on any of the maps I have on Norway.

Can anyone help me out of this?

Hi,
I'm not aware of any place called Dona in Norway.
The "west coast" normally indicates the coast of Norway south of Trondheim, was it your intention to point out that part...?

However there is a place called "Dønna", just outside the city of Sandnessjøen in Nordland county, in the northern part of Norway.

Do you have any names, birth year, emmigration year...?

Jan
