I am looking for information regarding my great grandfather who is believed to have been born in 1854. Legend says that he was a Norwegian sailor who 'jumped ship' in Australia - probably in Melbourne or Portland. It is also thought his father was Thomas Thompson.

Any information re a Thompson family in Norway would be appreciated.

Don't you have any more information that could help identify his family?

Thank you for your interest, but unfortunately I just haven't been able to find anything. I have checked 'deserters' in Australia without success. I would appreciate any assistance or advice you could provide.

Thank you.

Hi my great-grandfather was Charles Thompson born about 1854. He was a sailor who came to Australia and settled in Queensland. His Naturalisation Certificate says he was Danish. Are we related?
