I am trying to find Norwegian relatives,we lost contact in the early 50s,my greatgrandfather was Hans peder Pederson,he was born in Fredrikshald but moved to Onso,my grandfather olaf Pederson was the one who came to Scotland in 1888,he was 31 then,he lived in Glasgow .Our contact in the fities was a john johansen he was adopted apparently by the pedersons and regularly wrote to us we lost touch after my father died ,my father was peter Petersen.

Hi Here is a possibility with an expaination leading up to it
In the 1865 census this looks like your great grandfather living on the Græsvig farm in Onso
In the Matrikkelutkastet av 1950 Østfold Onsøy herad under #48 Græsvik there is a John Johansen listed as the owner of #132

This all leads up to the 2000 2001 Skattelistene (tax list ?) for Norway where there is listed Navn:
JOHN WILHELM JOHANSEN
Fødselsår:
1906
Postadresse:
1621 GRESSVIK
Skattekommune:
FREDRIKSTAD
If Gressvik is the present day Græsvig and the age is correct this might be your man. He is in the 2000 and 2001 list but not 2002 .
There are other Johansens listed with the Gressvik address and one might be a relation. Here is the site
Click Here Search on Velg fylke: Østfold Velg kommune: Fredrikstad Etternavn Johansen.
You could try contacting them and see if there are living relations.
