Can anyone tell me if a company calledGraesvig,Dampsag,Hovleri still exists in Norway

Not too surprisingly there were no hits on anything like that in the norwegian online phonebook. There aren't many Høvleri's around any more (and most (all?) is part of big chains nowadays) - and dampsag's (steam driven saws) you hardly find in museums. But of course there are old companies doing other things nowadays who have kept the old company name. But this doesn't seem to be the case here. Sorry.

Hi,
I guess the "Græsvig Dampsag & Høvleri" could be the company which are known as "Gressvik bruk", a company which was a corner stone establishment next to the Glomma river in Fredrikstad, and started the industry development of the Gressvik area, the population "exploded"...

There's not much left of the old factory today, I don't think the company exists anymore.
