It would be great with some help on Anna Maria Persdotter, born 1872 May 12, Wermland Sweden. The story says she went to Grand Forks, Minnesota USA, two times. First trip must have been around 1892, when she was 19 or 20 years old. Maria got home sick and left but the people she visits in Grand Forks wanted her to come back and pay for a new ticket. When the second trip was made we don’t know. Logical she should have taken a boat from Norway. I can’t find any “Persdotter” but did find a Maria Person leaving Kristiania 26.02.1892. If this is “right” Maria, when should she arrive to USA? A relative says she went a month after her birthday. I did found 4 Maria Person on Ellis Island but not sure yet if I’m right. On one of them it says, Last place of Residence is Malnis, where is that? Does anyone know if there is any information on passenger list from USA to Europe? I receive different information from my relatives and that make me confused.
In census from 1900 she is back home again and for good. If someone could help me I would be more then glad.

Hi It is possible that she went to Quebec and from there to to Grand Forks (Grand Forks Minnesota is called East Grand Forks, Grand Forks is in North Dakota). There are no online databases for the Canadian passenger lists. You would have to get the microfilm to search for her arriving there.
Have you checked or asked for a look up in the emigrants from Sweden CD just in case she didn't leave from Norway?
How about parish records, would they have the dates she left?

In the parish it says she moved out 1892-05-12, the same day she was 20 but one of my relative also made a note on the copy, that it’s wrong, that it should be 1892-06-10 instead and the destination was North America.
I got a photo and it’s made of S. Berg, Cor. Bruce Ave&4th street, Grand Forks. N.D. N.D isn’t that North Dakota?
Among the information it was also a copy of advertising printed in 1898 over the White Start Line and new rules for third class passengers. (Glad we got better food today)
This text is in Swedish, so perhaps the second trip went from Gothenburg. Other relatives are so sure that her first trip was from Kristiania /Oslo.
