Isak Schefloe/Shoevlo/Schiefloe & finally in America - Sheffloe
Born October 13 (or 18?), 1836, Steinkjer
In the 1865 census as 30 years
Left Stod for America in 1866
(he is one of 5 children born to parent John Olsen Schiefloe - born 1799 and mother Marta Pedersdatter - no DOB. Siblings are Ole, Baard, Petter, Andreas)

Gr-grandmother:
Baralina Aagaard Sheffloe
born 1855 on Rovik Island
unsure of date she left Norway

Maternal Gr-gandfather:
Hans Stephenson
born October 21,1848 in Branbu

Bertha Marie (sp?) Pederson
born November 10, 1859 in Modum

Can you point me in the some more directions for additional information about their emigration? Or in searching for local relatives from other siblings. I am very new to this but enjoy searching records on the internet. THANKS!

Baroline Aagaard in 1865: http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=f61701&gardpostnr=98&personpostnr=933&merk=933#ovre

Her father is a widower in 1865. He emigrates in 1868: http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=EMITROND&gardpostnr=1663&merk=1663#ovre

Carl has probably remarried, and his wife emigrates in 1869: http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=EMITROND&gardpostnr=4827&merk=4827#ovre

The names and data are very mixed up, but they are so rare that it must be right family.

Brother Johan emigrates 1876. He is then married: http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=EMITROND&gardpostnr=15118&merk=15118#ovre

I can't find the two eldest siblings as emigrants. There is a possible cousin, Axel Marius Aagaard, in 1900 census: http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=f01701&gardpostnr=239&personpostnr=1327&merk=1327#ovre

Perhaps his wife, Mette, was born Aagaard, and is the eldest sister of Baroline. Perhaps Axel and his wife are cousins.

From Familysearch:
Carl Frederik
Birth: 30 Jul 1818
Christening: 14 Oct 1818 Place: Ytteroy, Nord-Trondelag,
Father: Aage JACOBSEN Mother: Martha Marie Kjerstene AAGAARD
LDS VRI Batch Number: C427092

Røvika is a farm on the island Ytterøya, near Levanger town.

Marvelous information! We will be in Norway in three weeks and I want to see as many of the small areas where family members were from originally. Thanks for the help. You are very good at this searching!
