You were helpful with research clues for Dorte Lovise Kristoffersen and since I am going to Utah this week I was wondering if you could give me some pointers on finding Christ Hagen. He is listed on my grandmothers, Harda Kristine Pedersen's, ship manifest as her uncle and that is where she was going to work when she arrived. She immigrated in 1923. Too late for 1920 census and in 1930 she was married and I have her living with her spouse and children.
Christ Hagen's address is shown on manifest as 3429 Gerard Ave Minneapolis, Minnesota
additional information Harda is Dorte's niece. Thank you again!! Hope I am not a problem.

Look in the indexes of the US censuses for Christ Hagen - that may give you information about his age, marital status and year of immigration. He may have other relatives living in his household. (Remember that the name can be mispelled or may have gone through several spelling variations as he became accustomed to American life.) If you then need more information - check if their are city directories for that time period in Minneapolis. When you know vital information such as his birth year you can also look for his at Rootsweb, Ancestry, FamilySearch etc. and find if others have been researching that particular family history. |

If you check the online Minnesota Death Index, it will show 7 Christ Hagen(s).

There are several Christ Hagen's in the Minneapolis 1910, 1920 and 1930 census', none at a Gerard Avenue. They moved around alot in those days.
I recommend you check the moving out registers to determine who her uncle was, his age, emigration date, etc. Then you can narrow the field in America.
His name may have been a little different also, Christopher or Haugen. |

I think it is possible that my grandfather is the Christ Hagen you were looking for. His name was Christ H. Hagen born 1883 died 1971. They lived in that general area of South Minneapolis around those years. I'm trying to reach my father to see if he could confirm that exact address on Gerard. |
