My Great Grandfather Mathias Solberg was born November 23, 1855 in Norway and emigrated to the US in 1882. They arrived in Pembina County, Dakota Territory in July of 1882. He married Gina Johannesdatter in Norway in about 1878. They had 2 sons before leaving Norway - Christian in 1878-79 and John in 1881. I do not know of any other family members from Norway. I can only track the US born family after Mathias and Gina. Any help would be appreciated.[/font=Times New Roman]

They arrived in New York City from Liverpool in July 17, 1882 on the S/S Servia.
There is information and a picture of the Servia on this site.

Do you know his patromymic name? Parents name? He would be in the 1865 census but you really need to get more information on this side.

On the passenger manifest he is Mathias C. Solburg-24, weaver, Gina-25, Christian-3 and Joh. infant.
