My ancestors names Daniel Olson Modahl, Marit Modahl and Marie Halvorsen & Enval Halvorsen. I have found several of the Modahl information, but cannot find the Halvorsen. Marie emmigrated in 1865 from Siljin Telemark. Enval's name has been spelled Engval, Engvold among other spellings. Does anyone have any information on these? They settled in Minnesota and then to Tacoma, WA. Thank you

'Siljin' Telemark is probably meaning Siljan (often called Sillejord) in Telemark.
If you have at least good estimates of birth years and estimates of when these persons left Norway (check the US censuses) you could look in databases for Siljan (Sillejord) which are online, emigration databases from the nearest possible ports of departure and even in microfilm copies of the original parish records of baptism, confirmation, marriage, etc at your nearest LDS Family History Center.
The relationship between the Marie and Enval Halvorsen that you mention is not obvious and makes searching by others nearly impossible. Enval could be her husband? her son? her brother? Halvorsen could be her married name or maiden name?
You'll need to get and share more information in US sources to help identify each of the persons you've mentioned.
The 1865 census database for Siljan (Sillejord) Telemark only indicates on male with a given name anything similar to Enval/Engval/Engvold -- but he is only 8 years old.
