looking for information on when and how my grandfather got here, left norway between 1908-1913 on a work visa as a child, or boy scout? Ended up coming to boston mass any information would be helpful his name halfdan gunnerud thank kim foster

How old was he? There are two Halfdan Gun(n)erud in the norwegian cencus 1900, one born 1879 in Hof, Jarlsberg living in Kristiania (Oslo) and one born 1892 in Holmestrand living in Tønsberg. Could any of these fit?

haldan gunnerud born 1892 i did find him in the census but that did not give to much information, just family I can not find out any information on him except for the 1900 census, family said he came over on a visa as a child but i
do know he married in 1914 in massachusettes kim foster

I checked the Digitalarkiver emigration registers for him, but was not able to find him out of Kristiania (Oslo) or Kristiansnad. However, this does not mean he is not recorded in those sources, as the online version is not yet complete, and he could be in those missing parts. If you want to find out before they are available online you must get the films of the original source.
