Hmmm.... is there a question here???

Emigranter from Kristiansand 1873-1930 have a record of one Hanne Thomsén born 1879, leaving Kistiansand, Norway on Sep. 7th, 1905. Ooccupation: servant.

Listed together with her is a girl named "Sofie Didriksen", born 1882. They are both from Flekkefjord in Vest Agder.
Maybe Sofie is her later sister-in-law???

They both arrived in New York on Sep. 18th, listed on line 13 & 14 here
Destination is Hanna's Sister Sophie Thompson (in Brooklyn??). According to the Ellis Island manifest, Hanna has been in the US before, in 1895-1905.

Note: Hanne's lastname is written without this ´, but the forum would not let me write her name then... , it translated the middle part into **** because it can be translated into "strong language".... Any help here Borge?? :-9

Jan, Thank you so much this is my first time on the search for family in Norway. I'm 62 and very happy for all the info you gave me. Many thanks for such fast reply. All of my parents have past on and little was talked about concerning Norway.

Hi Walter,

Are you looking for Hanna Thompsen's emigration? Or her family in Norway?

Do you know anything more about Hanna? Her birth date (birth year ?), when did she die? Did she live and die in Jersey City ?

Walter:

I am hoping that you still check here on occasion, despite the fact that the last post in this thread is almost four years old. I have recently begun researching my own heritage, and found your info through a search of the names "Didriksen" and "Flekkefjord", the village that my ancestors hail from.
I was particularly interested in your 4-6-2005 post because it contained the names of my father (Howard), my grandfather (Alfred), my uncle (Bernard), and my granfather's siblings (Didrik, Herman, Sophie and Albert). I believe that your grandfather would have been the sixth and final member of that generation, making us cousins.

Did you try sending Walter an e-mail? Just click on his name and it will take you to his profile and you can send him a short message, if he is still using that e-mail address.

Good luck!
